The MEP Staff
The MEP Staff brings a wide range of experience to Colorado School of Mines. Combining over 20 years of service with the State and engineering disciplines experience, our staff is well prepared to support our students as they work toward their engineering degrees.
The technical world is expanding and becoming more diverse. Mines' students bring a unique perspective to the workplace.
"We at MEP not only work to help our students to become great engineers, scientists, economists, professors, or whatever profession they choose to pursue, we also work to help them become great people." - Khanh, MEP Director
Khanh Vu - Program Director
Contact: kvu at mines.edu & 303-273-3021
Khanh and his family immigrated to the USA from Vietnam during the Vietnam conflict. His family found their way to Colorado because his aunt lived in Denver. He graduated from John F. Kennedy High School, a Denver Public School.
Khanh graduated from Mines in 1993 with a degree in chemical engineering and 3 minors: McBride Honors Program in Public Affairs, Latin American Specialization and Environmental Science.
He worked for Amoco after graduation. After the BP-Amoco merger, the Denver office was moved to Houston and Khanh chose to stay in Colorado. He subsequently went to work for the family businesses: Oriental grocery and real estate.
His passion for helping teenagers and fondness for Mines lead him back to accepting the position as the fourth Director of the MEP. MEP has come full circle because Khanh was part of MEP's inception in 1989 as a student and was instrumental in the founding of the Asian Student Association in the early 90's. With Khanh's industry, Mines and MEP experiences, we look forward to MEP's bright future. Khanh is excited to renew MEP's relationship with everyone.
